Abstract

This paper presents the results from dynamic measurements of piezoelectric constant d33 using Atomic Force Microscopy. It is found that d33 constant linearly depends on the DC bias voltage applied across the pre-polarized samples of Polyninylidene Fluoride-Trifluoroethylene i.e. P(VDF-TrFE). Thus, the DC voltage can be used to tune the piezoelectric constant and hence the sensitivity of the sensors and actuators using piezoelectric materials.
