Abstract

Over the last few years research into the postviral fatigue syndrome has allowed its general acceptance by the clinical and scientific community as an organic condition. Nevertheless, despite a recent concentration of research into various aspects of the syndrome, there are many issues which need to be clarified. It will be critical for investigators to adhere to defined criteria for the syndrome. In this brief overview, some of the major avenues of research are discussed.
