Abstract

Herein, we discuss polyoxometalates as precursors to bulk metal oxides and explain how polyoxometalates can be arranged into intricate, designed patterns. Upon chemical treatments, the polyoxometalates can then be converted to bulk oxides, with the retention of patterning. We expound the utility of this approach in making nano-structured metal oxides for solar energy applications.
