Abstract

The nuclear polyhedrosis virus isolated from Spodoptera littoralis contains approximately 0.4 μg of putrescine and 0.2 μg of spermidine per milligram of protein of purified virus particles. This is sufficient to neutralize 16.4% of the phosphate groups contained by the viral DNA.
