Abstract

This paper views the corporate goal-setting process and the goal-assessment mechanism as a multicriteria problem where a choice is made between a number of alternative objectives and managerial control tools. An analytic hierarchy process is proposed as a means of ordering this crucial problem. The general methodology is explained and the resulting goal-assessment hierarchy model is analysed.
