Abstract

Validation forms an integral part of the model development process but appears to receive little attention in published accounts of work involving the development and application of continuous system simulation models. This paper reviews criteria and methods which are currently used for the processes of internal model verification and external model validation. The importance of documentation within these processes is emphasised.
