Abstract

Model validation is of considerable importance in safety-critical applications such as arise in the aerospace field. The paper presents an approach based on parameter estimation and sensitivity analysis methods to problems of validating nonlinear simulation models arising in helicopter flight mechanics. The approach is illustrated through an example involving a main rotor damper model.
