Abstract
This book is the latest in the ‘Forgotten Voices’ series that presents collections of oral histories from the UK Imperial War Museum Sound Archive. Previous works presented Forgotten Voices from the Great War and the Second World War. This book, drawing on the testimony of over 100 voices from 785 Holocaust-related recordings in the Archive, is divided into twelve main sections that cover the period from 1933 to 1945 and beyond. The early sections encompass the rise of the Nazi party and the beginning of the ‘cleansings’. The middle sections examine the enforced ghettos, the camps and the death marches. The final sections discuss Liberation and the aftermath.
