Abstract
This article explores the international scope and nature of the reception of the individual case histories in the journal "Magazin zur Erfahrungsseelenkunde". Different types of case history are identified and located within various strands of development in psychology, psychiatry and popular psychology in the course of the 19th century in Germany, France and Great Britain.
