Abstract

An exhibition consisting of four site-responsive artworks located throughout the ground floor of Tramway, a contemporary arts venue housed in a former tramshed. The artworks invited visitors to interact with the fabric, histories and everyday life of the building. Among other concerns, the four works investigated issues of access and ownership played out in the built environment, and relationships between material heritage and cultural memory. Glimmers in Limbo: Tramway was made as the culmination of an AHRC Fellowship in the Creative and Performing Arts, in January-February 2018. It was one of two major suites of work made for contrasting but complementary sites in Glasgow, which constituted the Glimmers in Limbo project.
