Abstract
Collaboration with AHRC Fellow in the Creative and Performing Arts, Adrian Howells, to create an environment to facilitate an exploration of the nature of risk and intimacy in one-to-one 'confessional' performance. One intention of the project was to consider the impact of the environment in enabling or inducing 'confession' and on the quality or nature of the confession elicited. To this end, the environment designed juxtaposed three spaces associated with confession: a former church, a theatre and elements of a 'real' garden.
