Abstract

A large-scale performance made in collaboration with artist, Nick Millar, marine services company, Offshore Workboats Ltd., and the River Clyde in Glasgow. The performance was commissioned by the International Network for the Contemporary Performing Arts (IETM) and took place in November 2012. The performance comprised an attempt to lace together the banks of the River Clyde using over one mile of heavy-duty mooring rope. The rope was dragged back and forth across the river by workboats and tensioned around bollards on the opposite bank to create a zigzag lattice. The work was intended to invite reflection on the changing status of the River Clyde and its role within the City of Glasgow.
