Abstract

The main aim of the project “Social dialogue and industrial relations in education: The challenges of multi-level governance and privatisation in Europe” (IR-EDUREFORM) has been to analyse the development of social dialogue and industrial relations at the European as well as national scales since the onset of the financial crisis in 2008. In doing so, the project has considered the global drive towards liberalisation and privatisation in education reform, the strengthening of socioeconomic governance resulting from the introduction of the European Semester, and the austerity and recovery measures affecting public policy and education sectors in many EU member states during the recent decade.
