Abstract

We used atom probe tomography to confirm that the previously zircon U-Pb age (4453 ± 34 Ma) for the Apollo 17 Civet Cat norite is authentic. This age indicates that the Giant Impact and lunar magma ocean crystallization took place before 4.45 Ga.
