Abstract
The introduction of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) is widely discussed among central banks worldwide. This article seeks to define the different forms of money and to establish where CBDC is located in the present system of money, whereby the legal concept of money must be separated from the technology under which some forms of money do, or will, operate.
