Abstract
This chapter considers the importance of a short-lived and largely forgotten pop music show, Stramash!, which was made by the BBC in Scotland in the mid-1960s. It uses archival documentation (the shows themselves were not preserved) to analyse its importance in the wider contexts of the BBC and work in the wider entertainment industries of the time. Specifically, it highlights the organisational tensions between London and the nations and regions within the BBC and considers issues of representation, parochialism and careers within both the overlapping worlds of music and television in Scotland at the time.
