Abstract

Slovak public service TV's programme Svet24 (The World 24) interviewed Jan Čulík about the future of the British monarchy. In the interview, Jan Čulík speaks about various controversial aspects of the coronation of Charles III., in particular the fact that it is being paid for from the public purse while many people in the UK cannot afford food, as well as the extremely mediaeval nature of the ceremony, which pretends that UK is a Christian, protestant country, the king is its priest-ruler and the citizens must confirm their subjugation to him by declaring their allegiance. The interview is here from minute 12.15: https://www.rtvs.sk/televizia/archiv/20000/401676#736
