Abstract

As in other areas, in its energy policy, the Czech government seems to be stuck in outdated concepts from the past. It is as if it is imitating the behaviour of the former communist regime in its energy strategy, concentrating almost all its efforts on the building of large nuclear reactors which will be extremely expensive and will not be available for many years. At the same time, it does not have any proper strategy for renewable energy. Jan Čulík discusses this with energy expert Edvard Sequens from the Calla organisation. This Britské listy interview is broadcast on the Czech cable TV station Our Region from Tuesday 7 March 2023.
