Abstract

Mangrove forests are natural protectors of several tropical deltas but are severely degraded, and their restoration often fails due to the lack of a holistic approach. Here, we share lessons from the recent Indian Sundarban delta mangrove plantation program and discuss potential solutions to remove barriers for successful mangrove restoration.
