Abstract

Is the Czech president here just to lay wreaths, or does he have a greater meaning for the Czechs? What about the appointment of judges and the governor of the Czech National Bank? What is the impact of this? Should Czech voters define the possible risks of each candidate in negative terms? What does each candidate actually represent? On the last day before the first round of the presidential election in the Czech Republic, Britské listy editors Jan Čulík, Bohumil Kartous and Albín Sybera reflect on the Czech presidential election, which has clearly revealed much about the Czech community in its current state.
