Abstract
Shops in the Czech Republic were allegedly full before Christmas, so why are we still bothering the public pointing out to the poverty of the Czech population? But it is absolutely real as a result of inflation of almost 20 %. The Fiala government is doing nothing against either inflation or the impoverishment of the population. What to do about this? It is good to hear the opinions of people who are not part of the Prague middle class café culture, i.e. most Czech journalists. That's why Jan Čulík speaks in today's Britské listy Interview with columnist Petr Harašími from the Silesian town of Orlová, the worst town on record to live in the Czech Republic. Babiš's ANO movement has distinguished itself there by closing the local hospital. Weirdly, in spite of this, local people there vote still passionatelly support Babiš. This Britské listy interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station from Tuesday 27 December 2022.
