Abstract

During this talk, I will present the basic building blocks of typical photovoltaic (PV) systems and how these can be used for various energy harvesting applications. I will also discuss current simulation methods used for designing these systems as well as their limitations. Instead of conventional 2D simulation methods, our lab at the University of Glasgow is developing immersive experiences, where people can design these PV systems using virtual reality in 3D. I will present preliminary user experience results as well as a future outlook.
