Abstract

This review of the research landscape is the first publication produced by the Baring Foundation Strengthening the Voluntary Sector Programme’s Learning Partners and is intended to help guide the development of its programme of research over the next three years. It also provides useful information for the wider voluntary sector, legal and academic communities. The objectives of this review are: to succinctly outline existing knowledge on use of the law and human rights-based approaches by the voluntary sector in the UK; and to identify specific gaps in our knowledge and understanding with a view to establishing a forward-looking research agenda.
