Abstract

We conduct an interdisciplinary study using the Spot robot from Boston Dynamics. The primary goals of our study are to demonstrate the hardware and software capabilities of current robots as well as to investigate the current perspectives and attitudes of social care experts toward the use of such robots in the social care environment. We demonstrate three different tasks in a social care setting and conduct interviews with social care experts and representatives before and after the demonstrations to investigate their perspectives and attitudes.
