Abstract

For about two and half years, our research team has been collecting evidence from different actors within the ecosystem as well as managers of the TSSOs. Given the wide range or types of TSSOs and social initiatives within the Scottish heath care sector, we started by mapping out the sector, and conducting a needs-based assessment for different types of TSSOs in terms of the support they need and challenges they are facing as they go through different stages of development, especially scaling up their services. Our aim has been to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector and to co-create a collaborative network of actors within the ecosystem that helps the TSSOs to flourish and scale up. A set of recommendations are provided to help TSSOs to scale up their business model, networks, and social impact. This project is funded by the British Academy in the UK and match funded by the Science, Technology & Innovation Funding Authority (STDF) in Egypt, under the Advanced Newton Fellowship scheme. This report is part of two country research project in the UK and Egypt.
