Abstract
William Roughead (1870-1953) had a network of correspondents and fellow authors who shared his interest in true crime. These included Edward Pearson (1880-1937), Horace Bleackley (1868-1931), H. B. Irving (1870-1919), and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930). Letters from them survive with Roughead's books in the Roughead Collection now in the Signet Library, Edinburgh.
