Abstract
A study of a conventionally-designed microbiological safety cabinet showed that microbiological contamination released in the cabinet would quickly transfer to the working aperture and during use could be released into the laboratory. To overcome these shortcomings an aerodynamically-designed cabinet was built and successfully tested. it is hoped that this design will be the basis of future cabinets.
