Abstract

Is the Czech Republic occupied and/or usurped by the West? Would it be much better to live under Russian or Chinese rule? Is Bohumil Kartous as the spokesperson of the "Czech Elves" a "bloody informer" because by pointing out the nonsense and fake news which is being disseminated on the internet, he identifies himself with the current "hostile" , Western-oriented regime that rules the Czech Republic? Is Czech state power malign and are those people who point out criminality, "informers"? Is democracy tantamout to absolute freedom? Do you have the right to disseminate any lies and any type of hatred? Is the permament presence of low-level racism on the internet harmful because it dehumanises its victims? If you spread hatred against muslims or Jews on the web, are you responsible for the violent acts committed against the members of these minorities? These are some of the themes that Jan Čulík discusses with Bohumil Kartous in the Britské listy interview which was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 7th June 2019.
