Abstract

Anatomy and art are strongly interlinked disciplines sharing many similarities. By its very nature, anatomy is a tactile and highly visual subject. Traditional ‘artistic’ depictions of anatomy range from models to illustrations that are even supplemented nowadays with virtual reality and innovative three-dimensional renders. In this talk, we will briefly discuss the evolution of art in anatomy along with modern day techniques that have revolutionised the field. We are hoping to spark interdisciplinary discussions in how anatomy and art can be further integrated in the future for pedagogical purposes.
