Abstract

Using an AlGaAs optical waveguide as the nonlinear detection element of an autocorrelator, both intensity and interferometric autocorrelation traces of a modelocked Nd:YLF laser operating at 1.047 μm were successfully obtained for the first time. The autocorrelation trace was obtained with a peak power of less than 14 mW in the device, and the FWHM of the modelocked pulses from the Nd:YLF laser was approximately 17.7 ps.
