Abstract
Exhibition held at the Hunterian Art Gallery, University of Glasgow, 1 March - 25 August 2019. The exhibition was mainly drawn from the Hunterian's own collection of German Expressionist art, supplemented by the loan from the National Galleries of Scotland of the series of 11 lithographs by Max Beckmann called Die Holle (Hell), Berlin 1919. The exhibition, containing 75 works, was accompanied by a fully illustrated publication with an introduction by Peter Black and essays by Ernest Schonfield and Deborah Lewer.
