Abstract

This work explores non-human experiences of the universe. Turning a tree into a pixel is an interactive work that facilitates a setting in which a tree can 'expresses' its existence via visuals. In this work, sensors are used to gather data (voltage, light and vibration) from a tree and turns them into an RGB colour that is simultaneously changing based on data received from the tree. The changing values of the RGB inform the colour and intensity of LED light. This video shows the changing LED that is part of the video and site-specific installation.
