Abstract

We have measured the additional resistivity produced in a GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructure by magnetising an array of magnetic squares deposited on the surface. Semi-classical transport simulations explain qualitatively the main features of our data, whereas the hypothesis of electron–electron umklapp scattering fails to account for several important features.
