Abstract

A new picrotoxane sesquiterpenoid, picrotoximaesin (1), has been isolated from the methanol extract of the seeds of Maesobotrya floribunda. The structure and absolute configuration of the compound were determined using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, EIMS, and X-ray crystallography.
