Abstract

Popular scientific journals receive thousands more manuscripts than they can ever possibly publish – this means that good science is rejected by journals all the time. Papers can be rejected before peer-review, known in the trade as pre-screening, when the referee reports come back, or after the author has attempted to address the referees’ comments. In my experience working in scientific journal publishing and rejecting hundreds of manuscripts, papers are rejected time and again for the same reasons. Come and find out what the top 20 rejection traps are, so you can avoid falling into them in future.
