Abstract

In-situ magnetising experiments in a transmission electron microscope have allowed magnetisation processes in small regular Permalloy particles to be studied. Results are presented for a 4.0 by 1.05 μm2 particle of thickness 60 nm. It is shown that the particle can exist in two distinct remanent states depending on its magnetic history.
