Abstract

This document sets out national guidance for action by NHS Boards, Private Health Care Providers, AHP Leaders and AHPs. Its aim is to maximise and promote the role allied health professionals in forensic mental health play in vocational rehabilitation. It offers guidance on the way forward to further improve service delivery and quality of care for service users. It is based on the premise that engaging in productive occupation is fundamental to an individual’s health, well-being and self esteem, with work having a fundamentally positive impact on both physical and psychological health providing both purpose and meaning to life.
