Abstract

Professor Stephen Reicher, University of St Andrews, (http://tinyurl.com/StephenReicher) and Professor Alex Haslam, University of Queensland (http://tinyurl.com/AlexanderHaslam) will lead this Discussion Session, facilitated by Dr Renée Bleau, BPS Social Psychology Chair | 2015-17. The Identity Leadership model will inform the discussion around an analysis of the outcomes of the UK 2015 General Election, and discussants will present on the New Psychology of Leadership framework (Haslam, et al, 2011, Reicher, et al, 2007). Delegates will discuss their potential role as Occupational Psychology researchers and practitioners to contribute in the future to political practice and public policy engagement by considering their options for obtaining “a seat at the table” to create impact and develop the resilience needed for this critical contribution.
