Abstract

Axial is intended for projection on a dome-shaped space, such as a planetarium, and is one of a series of compositions investigating expanded audiovisual formats. The compositional structure is continually condensing - essentially composed of five iterations of the same material, each subsequent iteration is heard 1.5 times faster than the previous one, creating a sense of momentum and acceleration without any change in pitch or proportional duration of the material
