Abstract

This paper attempts to fulfil an intellectual debt to the recently retired Harvard Professor, Duncan Kennedy who influenced a whole generation of law students. The essay adopts an autobiographical method to describe the bearing of Prof. Kennedy who was instrumental in bringing together disciplines to create a more holistic study of the law. This paper informs the reader of the profound impact that Prof. Kennedy has had on the author’s work while making an attempt to catalogue how his advice was integral to the author’s contribution in the field of law. Above all, this paper pays homage to a recently retired academic who influenced a generation of thinkers, lawyers and intellectuals.
