Abstract

New layer-structured rhombohedral In3Se4 hierarchical nanostructures, assembled by thin nanosheets with a thickness of ∼20 nm, are controllably synthesized by an ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid and ascorbic acid assisted solvothermal method. Detailed structural and chemical characterizations, using transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, reveal that the In3Se4 crystallizes in a layered structure with layers consisting of Se−In−Se−In−Se−In−Se.
