Abstract

This document details the information gathered on the core economic indicators (Economic indicators are statistics about economic activity). The economic indicators allow analysis of economic performance and predictions of future performance that underpin the new Dumfries and Galloway Regional Economic Strategy 2014-20 and provides a current economic profile of the Dumfries and Galloway region. The areas covered include standard economic indicators such as regional GVA (Gross Value Added), employment and unemployment as well as ‘softer’ indicators that contribute to overall understanding of how the region’s economy functions.
