Abstract

This new approach to teaching scientific ethics is the result of a collaboration between a science teacher and a researcher in medical ethics. It recognises that many science teachers have to teach scientific ethics despite not having a background in the subject. The article describes a simple scaffold, based on two main schools of ethical thought, that can be used in a wide variety of lessons to support learners in making progress in their ethical thinking.
