Abstract
This paper briefly discusses the value of the use of different approaches and learning technologies to improve accessibility. It considers the role of assistive technology in improving the accessibility of advanced learning technologies and illustrates this by the example of subtitles, including new proposals to personalise them and represent emotional and other contextual features of speech.
