Abstract
A text commissioned by Animate Projects on Ben Rivers' 4-part film work 'Slow Action', which considers his fictive 'animation' of various locations as heterotopic in Michel Foucault's sense, and applies Foucault's reading of the 'fable' as a form practiced by Jules Verne to Rivers' striking use of fictional narration against 'real' footage.
