Abstract
The article analyses Giorgio Vasari's account of Albrecht Dürer's Venetian lawsuit filed against Marcantonio Raimondi, showing that it is a legend compiled from narrative and factual elements. The article considers Raimondi's artistic practice in Venice and Rome and offers a revised chronology for some of his prints.
