Abstract

This chapter examines the debate between television, sport and politicians around the defining of the UK's listed sporting events protected from exclusive pay-TV coverage. It focuses on the politics of sporting representation at a time of political change across the UK state and the impact that European legislation is having on this area of popular culture.
