Abstract

This is the first in a sequence of three reports on Parody and Pastiche, commissioned to evaluate policy options in the implementation of the Hargreaves Review of Intellectual Property and Growth. This study presents new empirical data about music video parodies on YouTube, using a dataset of 8299 user-generated parody videos on the popular online video platform.
