Abstract

This paper presents an efficient buckling analysis method for a continuous array of plates, extending over regular internal supports, which can be either curved or straight. Practical examples include flight control surfaces subject to local buckling between the internal rectangular supports over which the plate is continuous. The investigation includes a preliminary set of comparison results for plates that are continuous over a regular array of adjacent rectangular, circular, hexagonal, oblique (skew) or triangular supports.
