Abstract

This research brief summarises the report, commissioned by the DfES, which looks to aid the Diversity and Citizenship Curriculum Review Group, headed by Keith Ajegbo, former headteacher of Deptford Green Secondary School, by reviewing all the relevant literature on diversity within the curriculum.<p></p> The research focused on the provision of a diverse curriculum in primary and secondary schools in England, and the potential for adding a fourth dimension to the citizenship education curriculum with the specific purpose of promoting an understanding of Modern British, Cultural and Social History, British identities and shared citizenship values.<p></p> The research was carried out between June and December 2006.
